Alanlar / Alan Turks and Lancelot

"ALANUS A LOT" tan "THE ALAN OF LOT" a, sonra mı?
Tabii ki "LANCELOT"
"Lot Nehrinden bir Alan" anlamına geliyor...
ve Lancelot destanı buradan türüyor.
Ben demiyorum bir "batılı" "From Scythia to Camelot" kitabında diyor"...

ALANUS A LOT - THE ALAN OF LOT - LANCELOT

"Nart destanları eski Türk destanlarına daha yakındır."
"Alanlar Türktür"
"Karaçay-Malkar (Balkar) Türklerine aittir."
"Saka-İskit Türkleri ortak Atalarıdır." ...

SCYTHİANS, ALANS and OSSETİANS How related are they? How much is Nart Saga related to İndo-Europeans?

Scythians, Alans are Turkish Tribe, and Nart Saga is more Turkish then Ossetian, or in other way, less-İndo-European. So, the info is been given by "C. Scott Littleton, Linda A. Malcor" in their book "From Scythia to Camelot: A Radical Reassessment of the Legends of King" is based on "Indo-European perspective", which is an inaccurate statement. Because nor the Alans and Nart Saga are İndo-Europeans, neither the Scythians are İranian speaking people. Not a single ancient author wrote, that the Scythians are İranian speaking people. There is even a Oghuz Kurgan (Курган Огуз) from the 4th c BC in Ukraine; Oghuz=Oğuz Turks

But, it is true what they wrote in this book about; "non-Celtic" source of Arthur (comes from "Arthır", an Alanian Turkish word for "Story Teller", but Ar-Er means also Man in Turkish!), how "Alan-a-lot" became "Lancelot" and "Arthurian tales which was produced after 12th-13th century"...

Just like the Holly Grail comes from Oath Cups and coat of arms of Mamluk Turks, all these traditions are produced after interaction with the Turkish tribes...

SB.

"Lancelot not a character of primitive Arthurian tradition. First recorded mention by Chrétien de Troyes and sudden growth in popularity. We find no mention of the hero's name before the latter half of the twelfth century, yet within ten years of that first mention he is the most famous of Arthur's knights, and the lover of the queen.

The legend of the Grail, originally foreign to the Perceval story, completely dominated that story and changed the character of the hero, who became transformed into an ascetic celibate; while, on the other hand, the growing popularity of the Lancelot story had reacted prejudicially on the position alike of Perceval and the still earlier hero Gawain as knights of King Arthur's court. Eventually the two competing centres of romantic interest were Lancelot and the Grail, and it became necessary to combine them in such a manner that the latter, while still retaining its sacrosanct character, should yet contribute to heighten the fame of the popular 'secular' hero."
The Legend of Sir Lancelot du Lac
Jessie L. Weston, 1901

"The medieval sources, about Caucasian ALAN-AS, decribed them permanent as Turkish tribe. Whereas, there is no hint that they were İranian. As a result, of the long domination of these AS TURKS on İranian community, and neighborhood in the Caucasus, adopted this name. In fact, the word Os or Ossetia, is not essential of this community, they call themselves otherwise. They call themselves IRON."

ALANS

650 BC
Ases are first mentioned in Assirian sources as the Scythian name Ishkuza = Ish-Oguz or Ish-kiji, with the same semantic, where Ish is a variation of ethnonym As, and Oguz or kiji stand for people.

500 BC
Tribe of Aderbics, part of Masguts/Massagetae, sent 40 thousand infantrymen and 2 thousand horsemen to the camp of Darius the Great at the Babylon. It is evidence of the large nomadic population living on the banks of the Uzboy. Period from 7th c. BC to 5th c. AD was flourishing for Aral-Caspian area, combining settled agricultural and tribes specializing in sheep or horse animal husbandry. Symbiosis of farmers and nomads.

300 BC
From Chinese sources Alans are listed as one of four Hunnish tribes (Xu-la, Lan, Hiu-bu, Siu-lin) most favored by kings of Eastern Huns (Mao-dun/Mete and his son Ki-ok/Kök) of 3rd century B.C. (ToOD 146). Hiu-bu and Siu-lin are Ch. coding variations for Yui tribes, Uigurs; Lan stands for Alan = Tr. alan, yalan = steppe, synonymous with  Tr. yaziq = plain, plateau (Yazygs, Ases, Yases). Alt. name for Alans (probably, a W.Europe subtribe) is Gu-alan, Tr. quw alan = dry steppe; both names indicate part of clans living in steppe, while other part lives by river, mountain, forest etc. ... more:

"This race of resolute and indomitable men (= the Huns), inflamed by a fierce desire to sack others' property, sowing violence by looting and killing among the neighboring peoples, reached the Alans, the ancient Massagetae. (Ammianus. 31, 2, 12 Halanos ... veteres Massagetas - link)

As above mentioned, Oghuz-Huns-Massagetae and other tribe names are the ancestors of all Turks. So Alans are not İndo-Europeans, and therefore not considered as Ossetians. But today Alan and As Turks are asimilated among Ossetians, besides Ossetians call Karachay Malkar Turks as As-Alan, and Nart Saga belong to Turks, which was accepted by Ossetians and changed many names from the saga. And like N.Kisomov says : "by the 10th c. Ossetes were already polygenic (many) people." - SB.

"... it is clear that the Alans (Ases) never called themselves Irons, Irons is a self-name of the Ossetians only..."

"Thus, Alans made their celebrated military and political destiny hand-to-hand with their Türkic kins: Huns, Khazars and Kipchaks. From the 13 c. the Alans-Yases ceased to be ruling among the other Türkic people. But it does not mean at all that they disappeared physically, they lived among other Türkic people and gradually entered into their ethnicity, accepting their ethnonyms. Such a strong, scattered along all Eurasia people as Alans-Yases, could also participate in forming the Ossetian people, but they cannot be equated to the Iranian speaking Ossetians by a single trait. If the Scythians, Sarmatians and Alans were Ossetian speaking, all Eurasia should have Ossetian toponyms. They do not exist, unless artificially (quasi-scientifically) produced. Thus, in all their attributes the Alans were Türkic, and participated in the formation of the many Türkic (and not only the Türkic - Translator’s note) peoples."
